The Holiday Shoppe was stocked by the generous donations of corporations, foundations, churches, individuals and families. This year the Shoppe was sponsored by the New York Lady Giants. In addition to a monetary donation the New York Lady Giants helped sort toys, man the Holiday Shoppe and wrap presents for the children of Hope Residence.

It’s that time of year again - Holiday Shoppe! Eva’s Volunteers will set up a Holiday Shoppe to allow all parents in our programs the opportunity to choose gifts for their children. The Shoppe is organized by ages so the parents can easily find what they want. Many donor/volunteers help make this possible each year:
The Holiday Shoppe would not be possible if not for the many donors and volunteers!

The Holiday Shoppe at Eva’s Village
Thursday December 2, 2010
A wonderful new idea was started in 2009:the Holiday Shoppe at Eva’s Village. In support of our mission to treat everyone with dignity and respect, our clients visit the Holiday Shoppe to select from a wide array of gifts for their children. These gifts, so generously donated to us, ensure that the children of Eva’s Village will have a joyous holiday season they can share with their friends. Just as important is the comfort the Holiday Shoppe provides to parents not able to purchase gifts for their children at this troubled time in their lives.

How it Works:
1. Hundreds of new toys and other new gifts are generously donated by families, companies, churches and other organizations.
2. Many, many volunteers help to sort the gifts and prepare the Holiday Shoppe.
3. Parents in our Shelters and various Treatment Programs choose gifts for their children completely free of charge.
4. The gifts are put aside for many more volunteers who lovingly wrap each one.
5. On Christmas Eve, the gifts are delivered to the parents, who have a wonderful surprise for their children on Christmas morning.
This is one more program that your generosity makes possible at Eva’s Village! When we don’t have gifts appropriate for some children (teens, for example), we use some of our Christmas donations to purchase appropriate gifts. No child is neglected. So give generously this season — your donations will be used all year round!
